metamorphosis

from fracture by the matter men

/

about

The exquisite guitar line at the opening – yet again restating thematic material from thesis - with beautiful, shimmering harmonies from the synth, and finally the EWI. The mood is peaceful and thoughtful but will soon go through several metamorphic changes, in each period of change - breaking-up the rhythmic, harmonic, atmospheric, and melodic ideas until they become completely disarranged. Yet in disarray they finally coalesce into cogent thought.

Keep in mind that all of the above happened in a totally free improvisation session – with no alterations, no over dubbing, no editing, save balance and tonal issues.

And the ending shows we do not take ourselves too seriously!
