about

out of distorted strings sounds comes a very ‘cool jazz’ bass line which drives the whole movement - soon after, a melodic line begins to coalesce out of the lowest registers of the EWI and synth - enter the keys, giving rhythmic and harmonic structure and a clarification of the thematic material - from here on - the melodic material is restated through shifting rhythmic and harmonic iterations - EWI and keys twisting and turning around each other - while the bass supports with a heart-like beat. The melodic theme begins a climax at 3:15 with a complete statement of the descending 11 note motif and then fractures once again with shifting textures, both rhythmic and harmonic, and finishes where it started – in the lowest register of the EWI.
